Plans for Pagpapalaya, the text-rpg game

Writing about this game is a lot harder than other games. I'm not really sure on whether to post this as a general update, plans for the future, or a postmortem.

This game is made is in a way many years in the making--while also being made within 2 weeks for the Buwan ng Wika jam.

Why Educational Games? Especially Niche Topics such as Filipino Psychology.

You can never separate a person from its past. What matters is what he does with it. Frustrations with academia aside, before I was developing games, I was a scholar first and foremost. I had long thought of, and attempted to create a game like this since a long time, but only recently managed to put in the work to make it a digital game. It was easier to work on something you're very familiar with than come up with something new.

I would like to use my background and bring something new to the table in video games. As such, I specifically wanted to take up the challenge of modernizing educational games. While educational games do exist right now, it doesn't see anywhere near a success than it used to. I personally grew up with a number of educational video games, and I wholeheartedly believe that there remains so much untapped potential in the genre, including using it as a means to for education--including but not limited to higher education--whilst keeping things fun.

The Game is Unfinished and Not Really That Playable. Why bring attention to this jam game?

Because it's a jam game built in two weeks, there really isn't enough time to do anything more with it. However, what I had not yet publicized is the fact that it is a product of a card-game game engine that I am currently building using the Godot Engine. And this game is a product of that engine while it is in it's infancy. Though it is still has a long way to go. I will be working on upgrading this game and probably release this as an open-source project later on. Bare minimum, I aim to make this game as an example of what could be accomplished with my game engine.

Plans for an Update Schedule

Although I will give no specific date as a goal for this project. I will be making active updates. This game in itself is not my priority. But as I further develop my home-built engine (which is my priority), I will be updating this as well. Hopefully, I finish this sooner than later.
